The council rejected the plans in March 2021, however the decision was overruled when a government inspector, Mr Peter Rose said that the housing supply is inadequate and gave the approval for 167 new homes to be built on either side of Hertfordshire Way providing new land for Codicote Primary School to expand as submitted by Ashill Land Ltd.
